Saule is an evolving creative project founded by Sally Tabart in 2022. It’s about friendship, collaboration, connection, freedom, and making special things to proudly wear and own. We create in our own time, producing in small and limited quantities to meet demand. We seek the beauty in everyday moments, sharing them through our world and work.
Let’s be honest – creating any kind of product is not going to have a positive impact on the environment. We don’t believe in greenwashing, but we do believe in minimising our impact as much as possible, maintaining an open dialogue with our customers, and taking feedback and suggestions in our stride.
Saule uses minimal packaging to send out orders. Our tissue paper is FSC-certified recycled paper, and along with the washi tape used to seal our packages, it is fully home-compostable. We don’t produce garment swing tags or include any unnecessary promotional material in our orders.
Saule contributes 1% of each sale to Pay The Rent.
Saule layering pieces are crafted from 100% cotton seersucker sourced from Japan, who are known to have incredibly high standards when it comes to quality, environmental considerations, and conditions for workers.
Our labels, care tags and custom binding are all produced by small businesses in Naarm/Melbourne.
With time your robe will soften and become perfectly worn, while also maintaining its structure. For longevity, we recommend gently hand washing your robe in cold water.
Our makers are a team of three women who run their own businesses, working together from a studio in Collingwood, Naarm/Melbourne. We maintain a close relationship with them throughout the sampling and production process and regularly visit them at their studio.
